The Real Problem

Context

Smart Menu is a real SaaS used by restaurants in daily service. That means the menu, ordering flow and management tools have to stay clear when the room is busy, not only look good in a demo.

I built Smart Menu around that daily flow: guests open the menu from a QR code, order from the table or their phone, and the restaurant controls dishes, prices and availability from one admin panel.

It is the product that taught me to ship the smallest useful layer first, observe real use, then make the system run without constant intervention.

01

Approach

I designed from the service backward. The menu came first, then ordering, then the admin. Each release answered something staff actually did during a shift instead of expanding a feature checklist.

02

Execution

The customer surface and the back office moved together: a clear menu on the table, then the controls that keep products, prices and availability accurate behind it.

I kept improving the product from day-to-day restaurant use across web and mobile. Smart Menu now funds my life as a digital nomad and remains my clearest product lesson.
